Eyelash extensions?

Has anyone ever tried them?  I don't trust website testimonials, because they aren't going to post the ones that say, 'These made my real lashes fall out, and now I look crazy'.  They are kind of expensive too, but every now and again a groupon (or the like) comes along.  Back in the day I had super deluxe long beautiful lashes, but my old age has thinned them out.  But it is fine, because they are hiding behind glasses all the time anyway.  But if they were cheap enough, I'd say sure, why not, but I just don't know if they will be worth the cost.  And I also don't want to look like Tammy Faye Bakker/Messner, which is exactly what I looked like after getting a makeover ambush at the Dior counter at Macy's the weekend before last.
Less is more.

So if anyone has any knowledge or experience in the realm of false eyelashes, please advise!

UPDATE:
There was a fabulous groupon for eyelash extensions in Houston today.  Sold!

Wedding Weight Loss

Ok gang, we are getting near the six month mark and it is crunch time (literally!).  For those who do not know me in real life, I am not a small lady.  I had some glory days in the beginning of high school where I was really good at sticking to a diet and was more active, and even then I was just average sized.  As of now, I like to eat food that is bad for me, and I hate exercising.  So I can't say that I am surprised in any way that my body looks the way it does.  In any event, there is lots of room for improvement in the category of health and fitness.  A smart Natalie would have hit the gym like a Jersey shore girl back in November when I got engaged, because the thought of being my current level of fatness in a wedding dress makes me cringe.  But I put it off, and kept eating cake like it was going out of style, and here we are.
I am happy to report that starting this week my mom/walking buddy have agreed to go walking around the neighborhood in the evenings after dinner.  We have gone twice already, yay us!  And my eating habits have just been okay.  I have stopped eating desserts at such a high level, and try to get the portion control in check, but I am still sometimes grabbing a fast food lunch that isn't a salad, and eating fried crap and pizza.
Aaron and I are going to Dallas to visit some friends this weekend, so I think I will try to eat well when we go, but we are going to have a diet makeover extreme starting next week.  And I think I need to step up the workouts also, because I don't think 30 mins of walking is going to cut the mustard.  In an ideal world I would wake up 45 minutes earlier and do some working out in the AM and PM, but sleepy Natalie fights that idea 97% of the time.  Another thought I had was to just work out my arms and abs really well, because I can hide a big bum under a poufy dress.  I am pretty sure weightloss doesn't quite work like that, unfortunately.  And Aaron already said no to using our wedding monies to buy liposuction, lol.

So before I formulate my master fitness plan, does anyone have any good tips of how to drop some (or a lot of) pounds?  I am all ears!!

Something Blue?

We are almost to that portion of the program where I must outfit myself for the big day.  I like hammering out little details first because they seem like much less of a big deal than the dreaded dress hunt.  Right now my attentions are focused on the 'something blue' aspect of my look, but I just can't decide on which way I will express this tradition.  I could go with blue shoes as seen above, and since blue is one of our colors, it wouldn't be totally weird?

Or if I don't find any blue shoes I love, some clever people thought of a way to bedazzle your wedding shoes with some blue 'I do's!  Very cute indeed.

Or there is always the blue garter option.  This one has blue and silver, win!

Blue underwears are also a good way to discreetly wear blue.  Or blue pantaloons for the extra modest ladies out there, lol.

I must say, some blue jewels would be a fabulous way to be wearing blue.  Aren't these gorgeous!?

Or I could get a blue manicure?  My 16 year old self would be high five-ing me, lol

Eeek, maybe not this.

What was/is your something blue?

How to ask your ushers

...in a sorta funny way.

Since I am the queen of 'funny yet nerdy' things, I thought the most funny way to ask someone to be an usher at our wedding was so simple.

An Usher Mix Cd, silly!

All I needed were 3 blank CDs, some wedding themed scrapbook paper and ribbon, and about $8 bucks of itunes purchases if you don't already own some Usher tracks, and a computer with a CD burner.
Supplies

Tunes

So I downloaded the songs, burned them to the CD, made a CD jacket sized piece of scrapbook paper.  on the inside I wrote:

Dear Matt (prospective usher's name),

It would mean a lot to us if you would be an usher at our wedding.  We hope you say 'Yeah!'  Love, Natalie and Aaron

(the the track list)
1. Yeah! (feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris)
2. More
3. OMG (feat. will.i.am)
4. DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love (feat. Pitbull)
5. Hot Tottie (feat. Jay-Z)
6. Love In This Club (feat. Young Jeezy)

(Usher doesn't work alone very often....)

I found the manliest wedding scrapbook design, which were silver doves:
These are totally manly doves.

But then femme-ed it out with a bow ;)

The Good Spouse of 1930's

The past few weeks I have been thinking and analyzing what it means to be a good spouse.  I try to be good at everything I do (with a few exceptions) so why not make an effort at being a good wife?  I am sure Aaron would be happy even if I didn't try very hard because he thinks I am cute, that almost all of my jokes are funny and that I talk about interesting things - but why not take it to the next level?  I am not certain how to go about this currently, as we are not married at this point, but I found these funny charts which may or may not be a good starting off point for both of us, lol.

For those interested in how Aaron scores, he gets a demerit for #9 and merits for all but #1, but I am working on that one... ;)

Fiesta Fun!

<3 <3 <3

I am back!  So sorry I haven't had a minute to post, I have been busy moving back to Katy and getting settled, and I just now dug my laptop charger out of one of the boxes!  Due to busyness I haven't done one bit of wedding planning, but last Saturday Aaron and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of our friends Chris and Judy.  They are totally fun and such an awesome pair!  Chris and Judy exchanged vows at Agave Road in Katy.  Let me just tell you guys, this place is gorgeous!  The place is in the style of old Mexico, so naturally a fiesta theme was the clear choice - and Judy pulled it off flawlessly!
Party Space!

The place was so festive and brightly colored!  We had delicious quesadilla and flauta hors d'oeuvres, a fajita buffet, and cake and drinks and dancing.  We had such a good time! :)  And let me tell you about the cutest/fun thing they had:

These super cute pages that we filled out, they turned it into their guest book!  It was a really creative alternative to the normal guestbook, and we all had tons of fun filling them out.

Aaron wished the newlyweds many blessed years, and I wished them rainbows and unicorns and fireworks and sunshine :)

Below is the happy couple and Judy's little girl (who is just precious!) at the end of the ceremony.
So happy!  And don't you just love the dress?!

And now those two love birds are en route to Maui, luckies!  Many years, Chris and Judy!!!
